In this project, multi-block copolymers composed of hard PLLA segment and soft copolyester segment were designed and synthesized via melt polycondensation plus chain extension/coupling. The properties can be tuned widely from toughened bioplastics, ultratough bioplastics to elastomers by adjusting the composition and structure of the segments as well as incorporating nucleating agent.
