论文摘要:Electrochemical machining (ECM) is an efficient method to remove recast layer or burr to improve surface integrity of the workpiece. However, liquid electrolytes used in the traditional ECM process often result in stray corrosion due to their uncontrolled flow, thereby limiting the machining accuracy of the workpiece. Herein, semi-solid conductive hydrogels are used as electrolytes instead of traditional liquid electrolytes for ECM in order to suppress stray corrosion. Because hydrogel cannot flow freely, the electrochemical reaction can be confined to the area covered by the hydrogel, effectively eliminating stray corrosion and significantly enhancing the localization of ECM. In this study, two different conductive hydrogels are synthesized and their mechanical properties and ionic conductivity are investigated. Key parameters that affect the performance of recast layer removal during ECM are also studied. These findings provide new clues for accurate ECM and valuable guidance for designing conductive hydrogels for ECM.
